With no known cause, and no know cure, we need to do all we can to do to be the group that diminishes or ends Parkinson’s disease.

Support the National Plan to End Parkinson’s

Representatives Paul Tonko (D-NY) and Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) have introduced The National Plan to End Parkinson’s Act (H.R.8585) in the House. This bipartisan legislation will, for the first time, unite the federal government in a mission to prevent and cure Parkinson’s, alleviate financial and health burdens on American families, and reduce government spending over time.

National and local level trials:

  • ClinicalTrials.gov – A database of privately and publicly funded clinical studies conducted around the world.
  • Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiatives – PPMI is on a mission to understand who is at risk for Parkinson’s — the world’s second most common brain disease — in order to protect everyone from the disease. We need your help, if you have Parkinson’s or if you do not have Parkinson’s. The more people who join PPMI and share health data online, the faster we could change everything about how brain diseases like Parkinson’s are diagnosed, treated and, ultimately, prevented.
  • The Michael J Fox Foundation – Our single, urgent goal: Eliminate Parkinson’s disease in our lifetime.
  • TOPAZ Trial of Zoledronic Acid – This home-based study is a randomized (1:1) placebo-controlled trial of a single infusion of zoledronic acid-5 mg (ZA) for the prevention of fractures in men and women aged 60 years and older with Parkinson’s disease and parkinsonism with at least 2 years of follow-up.
